Advocacy of Gender-Equitable Budget is a strategic program to encourage the implementation of gender-equitable budgets, both at national and local level. The program was received positively as evidenced by the emergence of regulations that lean toward gender-equitability.
This book offers a snapshot of the studies that was held in six research areas, namely Surakarta (Central Java), Yogyakarta that including Gunung Kidul (Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta), Surabaya and Lamongan (East Java), Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara), Makassar (South Sulawesi) and Kupang (East Nusa Tenggara).
Findings:
Our research shows that the gender-equitable budget advocacy programs increases women’s participation in the planning and budgeting processes. This in turn improves the quality of life of marginalized groups especially women. At the same time, it contributes not only at the level of substantial, but also at the level of institutional and policy.
